Shakey Graves is playing a slew of shows kicking off this thursday with a fundraiser for the bastrop fires and continuing all throughout ACL weekend…so if you are in Austin for the insanity please drop on by and hear Shakey at one of the crazy events going down.

FIRST UP!!!

Thursday September 15th 2011 these generous bands are donating their talents to play this a shotgun show at the 29th St Ballroom for a super amazing cause: helping raise money to help those who lost their homes to the terrible wildfires.
-All the cover will go towards the American Red Cross of Central Texas Disaster Relief. Only $5 to get you in but we encourage you to contribute more if you can!
-We will be collecting non perishable food items, clothing, blankets, diapers for those affected as well. Here is a comprehensive list of the items needed most in Bastrop and Smithville this week:
pet kennels, new packages of underwear, bandaids, HEAVY DUTY leather work gloves, benadryl, baby food, chapstick, q tips, paper towels, visine, baby tylenol/ibuprophen, new pillows, air mattresses, towels, sleeping bags, washcloths, diapers size 1, laundry baskets, bleach, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, school supplies, backpacks, gallon jugs of water.
-Conan’s Pizza will be providing free pizza the first hour of the event!

AND FINALLY ON TUESDAY (not monday as i erroneously wrote) …THE ANNIE STREET ARTS COLLECTIVE PRESENTS A SECRET SHOW…if you haven’t been to one of these i highly recommend reading the directions carefully and coming on out…the weather is going to be unreal.here is the breakdown….
“The secret show is back with at least hopes for fairer weather. This month we feature Shakey Graves, Robert Steel, and Country Willie.
Shakey Graves is the stage moniker for for actor turned lo fi folkie Alejandro Rose Garcia. He plays and sings songs.
Robert Steel lives at Annie Street Arts Collective where his new cd ‘Calm Waters of My Youth’ is in constant rotation.
Country Willie landed his spaceship here in Austin after leaving his home planet of Nacogdoches and regales us all with stories and songs from his past lives.
LOCATION
Go to where Rollingwood Drive meet Mopac and head west on Rollingwood. Less than a quarter mile down on your right there will be Zilker Clubhouse Road. Turn there and go until you see Bettis Blvd on your left. The trail to the secret show will be right after that on your right. PLEASE find somewhere in the neighborhood to park or ride a bike or horse or walk. If everyone parks on Zilker Clubhouse Road, suspicions may arise from the villas above.”
