A week or so back, I put out a half assed call for people to send me photos of what they did on Shakey Graves Day
…and I got a few awesome responses…here they are:
The BEST…BY FAR…goes to Andrew Cummings of Jamestown, KY:

He has not one, not two but three different jars of moonshine. And yes, he is wearing overalls in the hot tub. This man, celebrated Shakey Graves day correctly. I tip my Miller High Life hat to you Andrew, well done.
To my pure delight a couple people sent me art that they did, this insanely great piece comes from Graham Franciose:

And to drive it all home my dear dear friend Camie Cox fixed up this store display in Book Culture (NYC)…….my personal favorite:

So amazing.
A big drunken thanks to everyone who made this day worth a damn.
I waddled down to city hall and played my one song. Council Member Mike Martinez handed me an ornate piece of paper

Me and my piece of paper…in the dustbowl?
the whole thing took about twenty minutes and then I proceeded to treat the rest of the day like my tenth birthday and went on to a classy night of Laser Tag and booze.
I hope you folks enjoy the EP I threw up yesterday.
Its an odd collection, sort of haphazardly thrown together. The live recordings are from some recent shows and the other songs are pretty old, so it makes for quite a hodge podge. There was a lot of deliberation in my mind over what to release, Im sitting on a bunch of old tunes and still want to send them to the folks who helped my kickstarter out first before I let them run rampant on the internet…
I hope everyone had a debilitatingly fun thursday.
